We are an Old Order Amish family, we have a phone in our office in the barn. Messages are checked throughout the day (except Sunday), and calls are returned throughout the day, or the next day.
On the Sabbath we especially take note of the wonderful works of God; of the creation and governing of the world, and of our Redemption. We make the Sabbath a day of prayer, of listening to and studying sermons; we make it a day of holy thoughts and holy conversation. In this way we can keep the Sabbath holy, as is so often commanded in God’s Word. If one does not keep the Sabbath holy it is certain that he will also take into contempt all the other commandments of God.
In keeping with our faith, we hold true to the Sabbath to give Glory to God the Father. Sunday is a day of reverence. We cease from business on this day.
